Excellent chips service was okay. Food was great !!!
Excellent fish, large portions with a light batter. Chips are also excellent. Everything was freshly cooked and you can eat in the restaurant if you like.

We made the mistake of eating in rather than getting a takeaway. That pushed the price up a lot and we had to wait a long time for food to arrive. Takeaway customers were being served immediately but we had to wait over 20 mins (for the same food they were buying). Unfortunately our visit coincided with a busy period. Food was ok, good cod and chips but not outstanding. Portions were quite small (if you eat in that is, takeaway portions might be bigger).
Only for local people. I went in and there were a small group of 4 people being served by a young chap. There was an older bloke mincing around behind the counter not doing very much. While I waited I looked at the price board and kept my eye open ready to be served. After a few minutes, selected a drink and put it on the counter. Still nothing. Then 2 other people come in, within a few seconds the crusty old geezer has fixed them with his beady eye and asked them what they want. They tried to demur to me, but his gaze is locked onto them. Totally ignores me, like I was invisible. So I went next door to the dolphin and spent a bit more on a sit down meal, that came with a generous portion of nicely cooked vegetables and chips and a drink and they didn't try to charge me 45p extra for ketchup sachets. After reading the other reviews here, it sounds like the grumpy old codger did me a favour. Cheers dude.
