The most beautiful view you can have from a parking space! Love Beer!
Not your usual caravan site. This place is well designed without having the caravans almost stacked on top of each other. Not much for the kids to do apart from exploring the area which is great. There's a little shop and a bistro, and all the caravans look like the have a great see view.
We stayed early September. If you are into festival camping i.e. very close proximity to the next tent you will like this site. There is a very nice bisto/bar next to the camping area which is handy if you don't want to cook or fancy a glass of coffee/vino. There is also easy access to the coastal path for dog walkers.The camping is mostly 2 man pitches 10-12 at most on 3 terraces with 5 or 6 steps up to each terrace and you have to carry your kit up to you pitch. People were waiting for pitches to be vacated to move their tents to get space. The largest pitch on the bottom tier only just took our 4 man tent but meant we had no view and our pitch had no steps up to it so you had to have pretty strong legs to make the 2.5ft (75cm) slope up to the tent. The showers are in the toilet block at the bottom and there are 2 each in the ladies and gents and are quite narrow and dark. The cost is included in your pitch price.The village is close by and is lovely but unfortunately this meant that people were coming back late at night drunk and having arguments, this happened on 2 different nights with different couples and because everyone was so close together and the site is effectively an amphitheatre everyone could hear everything. The gravel road/ car park also meant that every time someone went to the loo in the night you would hear them tramping along.If I were to go there again it would be only for a night or 2 out of season and with a smaller tent.
Great campsite with fantastic views. Very well run. Beautiful location with great walks in the area. Would highly recommend.
You can't book a pitch in advance, at what is ostensibly a Caravan park. There seem to be about 10 pitches in the heart of the park, and three up top. We took the top pitches, and had the best view in the world! The staff bend over backwards to help, the shop is really good, and I've heard the Bistro is good too, but didn't try it. There's a 10 minute walk into Beer, which is down the hill (Quite a haul back up mind, especially after fish and chips and a few pints!) Highly recommended - I'll be going back..
